1/28/10
The Lady Vikings opened the BACSAL Championship’s with a 29- 19 victory over Cornerstone. Alyssa Arace scored all her game high 9 points in the first half and Kayla Frierson chipped in 2 three pointers to get the Lady Vikings off to a quick start as they rolled to a 19-3 half time lead. In the second half, Madison Andres took over netting 7 points of her own as the victory advanced the Lady Vikings into Saturday’s semi-finals.
1-30-10
In the Semi-finals against Los Gatos, The Lady Viking utilized their full-court press to their advantage as they were able to force numerous turnovers in securing a 36-17 victory that propelled them into the Championship game. Kayla Frierson got things rolling for the Lady Vikings as she scored all her six points in the first quarter helping the Lady Vikings to a 10-0 first quarter lead that they never relinquished. The Lady Vikings had balance scoring through out their roster as Alyssa Arace scored 11 points, followed by Madison Andres 8, Francesca Bartolomucci’s 5, and Madison Umidon’s 4, but no game is won with just offense. Audrey Howatt,Tia Woodson, and Madi Mascali were all integral parts of the victory as they played tough interior defense and crashed the boards relentlessly that led to numerous Lady Vikings’ fast breaks.
1-30-10
The Lady Vikings ended their season with a victory over Tabernacle 37-19 to capture the League Championship. Kayla Frierson stepped her game up a notch by scoring 15 points to lead all scorers, but it was her ball handling and big game experience that led the Lady Vikings to victory. But, it wasn’t all Frierson, as Alyssa Arace, Madison Umidon, and Madison Andres had her back scoring 15 points between them. And as usual the unsung heroes were the defense and rebounding of Audrey Howatt, Tia Woodson, and Madi Mascali. Toss in the solid effort off the bench from Kamila Nowicki, Shelsea Herbert, and Francesca Bartolomucci and it spells out Champions. But, the biggest moment in the game came with 30 seconds left on the clock when Frierson spotted Herbert sneaking underneath the basket. Frierson whipped a pass inside and Herbert kissed it off the glass to score her first basket of the season sending the crowd and the Lady Viking’s bench into a frenzy. It was a fitting way to end a fine season for the Lady Vikings.

The Valley Christian Lady Vikings captured the league championship with a 25-19 win over the previous undefeated SRVCA. The Lady Vikings had a sluggish beginning as SRVCA opened the game with a full court press and took a quick six point lead, but buckets by Madison Umidon, Kayla Frierson and a 3 pointer by Alyssa Arace shifted the momentum. Valley ended the first quarter out in front by the score of 11-9. Midway, through the third with the score 16-13 the Lady Vikings finally got their track shoes on and had two consecutive break away baskets by Umidon and Madison Andres that gave the Valley girls some breathing room. In the fourth, the Vikings finished off SRVCA from the foul line as Frierson nailed four shots and Andres added one of her own. Defense played a prominent role in the game as Frierson, Audrey Howatt, Tia Woodson and Madi Mascali controlled the paint for the visiting Vikings and together the foursome collected 15 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Frierson ended the game with a game high 11 points while Arace pitched in 5.

Tia Woodson hit two three pointers to finish with 6 points while Alyssa Arace and Kamila Nowicki added 5 followed by Madison Umidon's 4. After finishing off Redwood of Castro Valley that moved their record to 4-0 The Lady Vikings entertained another undefeated team in San Ramon Valley Christian Academy. In a defensive first quarter struggle SRVCA led 3-1. It did not get any better for the Lady Vikings as they battled a full court press and a half court trap the entire game and never did get into any offensive rhythm and lost for the first time this season 22-9. Kayla Frierson was the only bright spot on offense as she led the Lady Vikings with 5 points and Francesca Bartolomucci's tough defense and Madi Mascali's rebounding were a pleasant surprise.
