The Lady Vikings came close to stealing the show on Thursday as they hosted first place SRVCA. The Lady Vikings scored first in the game as they were going against the wind. We managed to hold off their offense throughout most of the first half, but they scored a goal late in the first half to tie the game at 1 going into halftime.
We began the second half with the advantage of the wind until it started to die down. Our goalkeepers did a fantastic job of stopping most of their shots, and our substitution of players almost paid off until there was a scramble in front of the goal allowed them to take a 2-1 lead. Our girls tried to dig hard to tie the game but to no avail.

4/20 was against SRVCA...well if yesterday we didn't have a game..we sure did today...with a loss of 7 to 2. I guess their team had better and more organized players and were controlling our mid - breaking through the center more than once. We did at some point in time.. from period one we did manage to control the game. We were not able to finish or overpower their midfield, so in retrospect, they had a better team.
First half was with a strong ...bad wind ....not only chilling but switching from side to side ..making playing a harder task. I would say that in our defense, the girls never let go or stopped trying to play or score...so, well done team! We showed determination and courage, even if we were behind in score.....
I haven't mentioned that before, but great spirit of the game and players on our part!
So we will see how we will respond to them when they come here.
See you on the field..

Well..it is with more conviction that we took the game to Redwood...and a closer to full squad...
Coach is still looking for the right combination in defense and Redwood opened the score first..and we answered almost right back by scoring too...so it looked like the teams were going to be fairly equal..but Redwood did score again at about the middle of the first half. Again, the Vikings rallied and came back to score..then the game started to change in our favor as the pressure of the Vikings was starting to take it's toll on Redwood. Half came as a relief for everyone.. coach made a few changes and we went right back to it. I have to say that the Vikings dominated for quite a while. After a few near misses ..we went ahead scoring ...
At this point I think everyone started to relax a little bit too much as Redwood came back a few times to give a scare..not to the avail of a better organized defense, as we broke down all of their plays..and again our middle and offense put it together one more time and scored again..putting the game behind at that point. So congrats to the girls for playing like a team and working together..to bring some points and another win home.....next week 4 games in one week..even the pro’s don't play that much!
As I mentioned to the girls..there is no better practice than playing the real game...see you on the field.

With traffic not going in our favor...we made it to the field with 12 minutes to spare and for me to organize the team...so extra fast warm up and extra fast decision on who is on the field...fairly easy with one sub...so with 12 players that we came to challenge a well organized team with a very good forward who scored twice and had probably a couple of assists, too...with a result of 5 to 2...I do believe that our Girls did excellent on their first match...considering that two or three girls never played on a team before, we did excellent...we had some outstanding goal keeping...on the ground and the air...every one on the team should be and deserve to be proud...we will play them one more time and then we will see...
Field OK, high grass
Ref. good to better.
Other team’s roster 17.
VC’s roster 12.
Final 5-2
