Highlights - October 22 at CCS

VC 21, CCS 7

Madison Spina went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored
Kayla Frierson went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored
Phoebe Chung went 5 for 5 with 4 runs scored
Alexa Kemmerling went 2 for 2 with 1 run scored
Rachel Wolf went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored
Tia Woodson went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored
Francesca Bartolomucci went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored

The girl's started off offensively with 6 hits and 4 runs in the 1st inning and then Kylee House threw 3 strikeouts. The girls were both on their game offensively as well as defensively. There were some great plays made in the field and Kylee House pitched outstanding the whole game. The girls had 33 hits as a team and 9 of those were doubles. We scored 10 runs in the 6th inning breaking the game wide open and CCS could not score anyone else and the game was over. It was a great win for the girls and they get better and better every time they take the field.

Highlights

September 22 against Fremont Christian
Fremont 20, VC 1

Madison Spina went 2 for 2 with the only RBI of the game
The girl's played well even though the score does not reflect that. There was only one error made which is a huge improvement from the previous 2 games. Our offense was not where we would have liked it to be and that was reflected in the score only having 1 run.

September 24 at Redwood Christian
VC 1, Redwood 13

The girl's played better offensively even though we only scored 1 run. Instead of striking out, they were making contact but Redwood's defense was on their game and kept us from getting on base.

September 29 against CCS
CCS 12, VC 9

Madison Spina went 2 for 4 with a 2 RBI Triple!
Alyssa Arace went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI

The game was a close one with CCS. We would score then they would score and that's how to game was the whole time. In the 5th and 6th innings, CCS outscored us and they took the lead and we could not catch up. It was a great game overall and the next game between the 2 of us will be a great one.

October 8 at SRVCA
VC 22, SRVCA 9

Phoebe Chung went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored
Kylee House went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored
Kylie Greer went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored
Kayla Frierson went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and a Home Run!
Alyssa Arace went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and a Triple!
Miriam Anthony got her first hit and then scored

The whole team was on their game from the very start. We started off by scoring 5 in the first followed by 7 in the second. The defense played awesome too. Kayla Frierson got her first Home Run of the season in the first inning! Alyssa Arace then hit a triple in the second. We took advantage of every scoring opportunity that we had. Overall as a team, we got 30 hits and took advantage of 4 walks as well. They played excellent and we were very proud.

October 15 at Fremont Cristian
VC 3, Fremont 12

Kylee House went 2 for 3 with a run scored

Fremont has always been tough competition for us. We were making contact with the ball but Fremont's defense was playing really well and the kept us from getting on base and scoring. This game was definitely better than the first game that we played against them. Fremont also had a great offensive team as well and it was hard to stop them once they took over the game on both sides of the ball.

October 20 against Redwood Christian
Redwood 10, VC 8

Kianna Torres went 3 for 3 with a run scored
Alyssa Arace went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored

It was a tough battle between the two teams. One would score and the other would come back and score. We were leading going into the 5th inning and then Redwood had a big inning and took the lead making the score 9 to 8. It was a great game and there were some excellent defensive plays made by us. Francesca made some awesome catches out in left field for us in a position that she does not normally play in. Kayla schabbing made some excellent plays at short stop and she held her composure throughout the game even though she was getting drilled with balls play after play after play. The team played very well but we came up short. It was a huge improvement from the last game that we played against them. The other team's coaches were complementing us on how well they played and how much they had improved since the last game.

Every time the girls take the field the make improvements. We are becoming a stronger team both physically and mentally and it is showing. If only we had made these improvements earlier in the season. They are playing very well together as a team and everyone's strengths are showing when on the field.

Highlights from Tuesday's Sept. 15th Game:

VC Vikings 16, SRVCA 8

Phoebe Chung went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored
Kayla Frierson went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored
Alyssa Arace went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored
Francesca Bartolomucci pitched 4 innings with 4 strike outs allowing 2 earned runs

The Lady Vikings played very well for the first game of the season with little preparation. There were a few errors made but nothing that can't be fixed. The played well defensively and hit very well too.

Highlights from Thursday's Sept. 17th Game:

VC Vikings 12, North Creek 7

Kylee House went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's
Madison Spina went 1 for 1 with triple and 1 run scored
Kayla Frierson went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and pitched 4 innings with 5 strike outs
Megan Lucas went 2 for 2 with a double and 1 RBI

The Lady Vikings started off the game by scoring 5 runs in the first inning and then another 5 in the second inning. They played very well offensively and defensively, improving from Tuesday's game against SRVCA. They had a total of 10 hits and racked up 8 walks which contributed to the 12 runs scored.

Overall the Lady Vikings are 2-0 and 1-0 in league play
